our story

After a season of prayer and with the blessing of his pastor, Pastor Mike Bartolomeo was led to start Church for the Harvest.  With the help of a handful of praying people, Harvest began as a Bible study in his home in the fall of 1999.  By October 2000, the church began meeting at Alexandria Technical College on Sunday nights.  Two years later, they had outgrown the space and moved to the Discovery Middle School auditorium until October 2006.  Harvest then acquired a lease space to accommodate growth and new ministries of the church while removing the obstacle of set-up and tear-down each week.

From the beginning, Church for the Harvest has focused on reaching out to the local and surrounding communities as well as the nation and mission fields across the world. We are committed to do what it takes to reach and disciple people for Jesus Christ and our vision is to equip Christians to live irresistible lifestyles and to engage in influential works of service for God's kingdom.
